The public sector and not-for-profit companies are eligible for grants (available now) for 50% of the capital cost of wood-fired boilers up to 45kW capacity.
As part of the on-going efforts to develop low carbon and renewable energy technology use in the UK, the government has set up the Low Carbon Building Programme. RES is an approved framework supplier for the Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase II and can provide you with advice and support from producing and submitting the grant application to designing and installing the boiler.
The programme presents a clear opportunity:
- To take advantage of available and targeted financial support
- To upgrade outdated or inefficient heating systems
- To install a modern, interactive educational tool
- To contribute to the community’s efforts to reduce our collective carbon footprint
- Wood systems can be small, compact and highly efficient.
Features of the programme are:
- Very quick application process (typically two week turnaround)
- Grants can cover other parts of the system including flues, Mechanical and Electrical installation and other related building works
- Focused on highly replicable proven technology (learn about our prefabricated biomass boiler room package)
There are also grants available for other building-integrated renewable energy that can also be accessed through RES:
- solar thermal
- ground source heat pumps
- solar photovoltaic power
